Why settle in the South?

Living in the south of Manila has its fair share of pros and cons. Let’s start with the pros… Good urban development is really a key factor why I personally like to settle here. There are spacious walk ways and green spaces to boost an active and healthier lifestyle. The communities are designed to cater both residential and commercial needs without compromising the environment.

On the contrary, I once worked in Quezon City just 35 km away from my house in Bacoor, Cavite. You can imagine the hell I went through. Trust me it’s something that up till now, I was dumbfounded how I endured the 2.5 hour commute (one way, without traffic and MRT running smoothly and by smoothly, I mean 15 kph tops) everyday for 2 years. Yes, that’s the best case scenario.

What if there’s a way to have the best of both worlds? Living and working at the same time here in the south? It is possible to settle in the south.

I have had of enough of the hustle and bustle of downtown Manila that I need to take care of myself, eliminate the stress I put myself through going to the office and even worse once in the office. Good thing that happened late last year was that I got a call from a multinational semiconductor company in Alabang, Muntinlupa. I took the job offer in a heartbeat.

Living and working here in the south made my life so much easier – I was able to do so many things with less traffic (45 min commute to work, one way) and amenities within reach. I even had time to go to the gym. There are malls roughly 10 min walk from the office for me to choose from:

  • When I’m feeling rich (every pay day) – Alabang Town Center
  • When I’m still feeling rich but I need to save up – Festival Mall
  • When I need to buy clothes from the UK UK – Starmall
  • Everyday – Fast Bites, Family Mart or Office Pantry

Not to mention, Tagaytay, Nuvali, Canyon Woods, Orchard, The Palms and Laresio are just a 1-2 hr drive. Such perks, right?

Settling in south of Manila won’t prohibit you from having your dream job and reputable and multinational companies. BGC and Makati are just an hour drive via Skyway. You must know that Alabang is also a business district (ehem, I worked here) so working here means avoiding heavy traffic for good!

And according to the Manila Times article, the real estate services firm, who is exclusively marketing the VistaHub Molino building in that development, noted the interest of BPO companies to locate in Alabang particularly in the Daang Hari corridor, driven by the accessibility to the area mainly due to the Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway (MCX). The four-kilometer long toll road links Daang Hari and the rest of Cavite to the Muntinlupa portion of the Southern Luzon Expressway.

Having said so, south is now booming with communities of quality residences – one of which is Lumina Heights Muntinlupa. It is a mid-rise condominium community equipped with amenities and conveniences perfect for individuals on-the-go and starting families who want the exclusive lifestyle that a condominium community offers.

Time is really of the essence. It’s something we can’t earn every 15th or 30th of the month. We are always losing time that’s why I use it very carefully. Why waste your precious time along EDSA when you can do so much more?
